OVERVIEW:
A true model of consistency. Nothing changes at Houston's. Ever. Not the crowds; they're large. Not the quality of the food; it's very good. And not the menu; never any daily specials, (sadly, no Happy Hour prices), never any changes. There are plenty of steaks and burgers from which to choose, as well as a few incredible salads, the best of which is the Thai Steak Noodle. My best advice if you're not willing to wait upwards of an hour to be seated, is to arrive very early. Think before 5 p.m. Entrées are served at the bar, but it can get overcrowded, especially on weekends. There are about eight seats on the patio, and appetizers and drinks are served there. No entrées outside. The signature desserts are the key lime pie and the five-nut brownie. Both pack enough calories for an entire meal. You can expect every server to be impeccably clad and wearing a genuine smile. Return to the mahagony after one visit and the bartender will surely remember your name and what you drink. Very professional, all the way around at Houston's. The gigantic parking facility is deceiving; arrive at dusk most nights and still you'll still do a few laps looking for a space.
