The Waterways Shoppes
While the dining room at Kampai literally has not been renovated in decades, the food remains as fresh and tasty as ever.

OVERVIEW:
Excellent service, great location, enormous menu, and very good food.
You can dress down or throw on something a bit fancier for a meal at Kampai.
It's a very unpretentious place and that's a good thing in Aventura.
You'll immediately be greeted upon arrival at your table by a server bearing hot towels and a smile.
There is a myriad of sushi, sashimi, and cooked selections.
The prices are fair. Not cheap, not too expensive.
One downside is there's no liquor. Beer, wine, and sake are available, and all are very reasonably priced.
You won't find pinot grigio for $5 a glass at too many other spots in this city, that's for sure.
There's also a sushi bar if you're flying solo.
The restaurant has been in Aventura before the city even incorporated as its own municipality, and unfortunately, it
doesn't appear any of the upholstery has been changed during the last two decades.
The bathrooms, especially, could use a
significant upgrade.
The restaurant's appearance will not impress anyone.
That's the only drawback and the only reason my review doesn't reflect a higher rating.
Good thing the food is exemplary.
